Traditional Shiatsu Massage
Client is fully clothed and the Practitioner uses fingers, thumbs, elbows and knees on various key points of the body, to release tension and to improve circulation. Shiatsu therapy involves the systematic application of manual pressure to the body in order to assess and treat a variety of conditions. Various stretches and passive body movements are used too. Shiatsu is very effective when used as a therapy for problems caused by stress and tension and is a powerful tool for elimination of toxic buildup and fatigue, relaxing muscular tension and for stimulating the body’s natural self-curative process. Shiatsu therapy is effective in the management of many acute and chronic conditions, including: headaches, migraines, back pain, neck & shoulder pain, sciatica, whiplash, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, repetitive strain injuries, muscle tension & spasm, insomnia, constipation, digestive problems, menstrual problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis, asthma, anxiety, depression, sports injuries. After treatment, people experience relief from their discomforts and often find that deep, restful sleep comes more easily for several nights. It is important to note that with chronic conditions, it may take a number of treatments for maximum relief. It took a while for the problem to become chronic and therefore can take a while to heal. As well, a small percentage of people feel tired or sore for a few hours. This is a normal reaction to treatment as the body readjusts and rebalances and will pass within one to three days.
Energy Medicine Practitioner
One way to describe Energy Work is that it is done by modulating the frequency of the practitioner’s energy (by thought or by channeling other sources) which in turn can modulate or entrain the client’s energy. Sometimes used for assessment, it can balance or increase the client’s energy flow, fostering healing and relaxation. Some of the points, centres, and channels of ancient healing traditions are taught as bridging inner and outer consciousness, connecting us to environmental and universal flows of energy. Opening and clearing energy channels maintains circulation and renews blood supply, encouraging health. Tools include: Sound, Colours, Crystals, Touch, Voice. Offerings include: Chakra balancing and charging. Balancing the Auric Field. Home and business Clearing. Guided Meditation.
Combined with Shiatsu and/or other certified modalities, tools of Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, work to bring body, mind and spirit into balance.

Acupressure massage is a technique in traditional holistic medicine that focuses on relieving pain, tension and providing relief of other symptoms through strategic pressure placed on different points on the body. Acupressure uses theories and practices similar to those used in acupuncture, but acupressure does not involve needles. Acupressure aims to restore the flow of energy throughout the body, thereby promoting health and well-being. Traditional holistic medicine supports a theory that energy, called qi or chi, travels along 12 meridians in the human body, which connect organs and other body systems. Reflexology uses massage techniques on certain locations on the feet and/or hands for the prevention and treatment of diseases and the preservation of health. This is accomplished by adjusting the functions of internal organs and promoting the circulation of Qi and blood through the meridians that connect to specific points. Auriculotherapy (ear acupressure) is the testing of points on the ear and the use of seeds/beads on reactive points — helpful for a wide range of problems, for example, addictions, shoulder pain, anxiety.
Elemental Iridology (Iridology, 5 Element Iridology, Emotional Iridology) is a quick, accurate and painless system of health analysis through the coloured part of the eye called the iris. The eyes are acknowledged as windows of the body, recording the condition of various organs and tissues throughout the body. The iris is an extension of the brain, endowed with many nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, as well as muscle and connective tissue. Every organ is connected to the iris via the nervous system and the nerve fibres receiving their impulses through the optic nerve, optic thalami, and the spinal cord. The iris records information about the state and functioning of every organ in the body as well as levels of inflammation and toxicity. Changes often appear in the iris before the physical symptoms actually develop, allowing preventative action to be taken to improve health. Iridology does not reveal specific pathology (medical diseases) because many diseases create similar changes in the body tissue; rather it reflects hereditary tendencies and the condition of the tissues (ie inflammation, acidity, toxicity, congested lymph, and hardening of the arteries).
Hot/Cold Stone Shiatsu Massage Using heated or cool stones in massage can have powerful healing effects. Jade stones are used, as well as, stones that have been ‘wildcrafted’ with care from different areas on Vancouver Island. Stones of all shapes, sizes, and temperatures are used during stone massage to elicit physical healing, mental relaxation, and a spiritual connection to earth energy. Warm stones in massage encourage the exchange of blood and lymph, and provide soothing heat for deep tissue work. Cold stones aid with inflammation and congestion. Relaxation massage with oil is a part of this massage, and some stones are moved along the body and placed and other stones are placed directly on different areas of the body, including acupressure points and energy meridians. Deeply relaxing, this type of massage releases toxins and tension, improves circulation and the immune system. Essential oils may be added upon request.
Hot Stone Warm-Up for Shiatsu Hot stones are placed on top of and/or under the sheet covering the client. This addition to the Shiatsu treatment increases the ability of the body to have relief from pain, increased circulation and flexibility.
Shiatsu Relaxation Massage As in Traditional (above), except oil is used and there is more massage (Anma and Tuina) and less stretching. This massage relieves aches and pains and as well, improves circulation, stimulates the flow of oxygen and nutrients, thereby helping your body to detoxify and heal. Relaxation = stress relief. The end result is a feeling of overall good health. Essential oils may be added upon request.
